16 March 2024
Sergey Sobyanin, the capital city mayor, visited the construction site of the Museum and Exhibition Center (MEC) «Collection», which LSR Group is building in its flagship residential complex "ZILART".
- In fact, you and your colleagues are building here a whole new city for about 80 thousand residents, - said Sergey Sobyanin in a conversation with Andrey Molchanov, CEO of LSR Group. - For that reason it is necessary to have everything here - from workplaces to a cultural center, so that it would be a new point of attraction, a new center of Moscow.
The mayor not only got introduced to the progress of construction works, but also held a business meeting with members of the Moscow City Government on the development of this territory. In particular, they discussed the launch of the nearby metro station ZIL. Its construction should be completed by the end of this year.
As of today, the stage of completion of the MEC «Collection» is 83%. Currently the façade works and interior decoration are being carried out here. The completion of construction is scheduled for May 2024.
The total area of the building is 12 th sqm. The MEC will hold permanent and temporary expositions of paintings, graphics and sculptures. A storage with special humidity and temperature for exhibits is designed on the underground floor. The museum will also open a restaurant with a terrace and a view of the «Tyufelyov Grove», a modern park on the territory of Zilart.
The façade of the museum is decorated with glass and natural copper. Cassettes made of this metal were manufactured by special order of our company at the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company which carries out a unique production of large-format rolled copper sheets. Over time, the metal will change its color and the copper inserts will acquire a noble patina. The atrium inside the museum will also be finished in copper.
The «Collection» project was designed by the architectural bureau «Spich» headed by the world-renowned professional Sergey Choban. The opening is scheduled for September and up to 1,500 people will be able to visit it at a time.
