LSR Group among industry leaders for energy efficiency

Credit rating agency RAEX has published a rating of the most energy-efficient Russian companies. Based on its performance in 2018, LSR Group has been awarded the silver medal in the Leaders of Business: Energy Efficiency category.

Since the early 1990s, worldwide energy consumption per unit of GDP has been falling by an average of 1.6% every year. Russia too is following this trend: according to data from the country’s Ministry of Economic Development, the energy efficiency of the national economy has improved by 13% over the last 10 years.

Russia’s largest companies are contributing to this achievement – and LSR Group is no exception. The company systematically improved its energy efficiency figures in 2018. According to the LSR Group’s Sustainable Development Report for 2018, electricity consumption by the company and its subsidiaries fell by 24% over the course of the reporting year, while petrol consumption fell by 23%.

At the same time, LSR Group has also cemented its status as one of Russia’s largest construction firms, and was ranked at 106th place in the RAEX 600 rating. Turnover rose to RUB 146 billion in 2018, a 6% increase compared to 2017.
RAEX’s annual rating of the largest companies in Russia is the most representative of all the comparable ratings available. Since it was first introduced 25 years ago, the rating has been recognized both in Russia and abroad; its results have been widely discussed in the Russian and international media as well as certified by leading international auditors.

From 1995 to 2003 the rating covered only industrial companies, and was restricted to 200 corporations. In 2004 the list was extended to 400 businesses and it covered all economic sectors. Since 2015, the rating has listed 600 companies. Its results are published in the newspaper Kommersant and on the RAEX website.

The current rating also identifies the overall contribution of the largest companies to Russia’s socioeconomic development: RAEX 600 includes lists of leaders in a range of key areas, from investment and innovation to environmental and social responsibility and international integration.
