LSR Group starts construction of a unique educational center in Yekaterinburg

On November 14, Mr. Evgeny Kuivashev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Mr. Alexander Vysokinsky, Mayor of Yekaterinburg, and Mr. Maxim Sokolov, CEO of LSR Group, laid the first stone of the unique educational center that will have a kindergarten and a primary school under one roof. The facility will be located in Yekaterinburg, between Shirokaya Rechka and Academichesky, next to the Meridian residence, surrounded by the streets of Evgeny Savkov, Verkhneufaleiskaya, and Landau as well as the Patrushikha River.

The importance of constructing a new social facility in two dynamically developing districts of Yekaterinburg (Shirokaya Rechka and Academichesky) will be of the utmost value to the society.

"Such educational centers have already been built in other locations and they simplify the work of teachers by a considerable amount. With the commissioning of this new educational center, the work load on the nearby educational facilities will be significantly reduced. Therefore, the LSR Group deserves gratitude for its non-standard and creative approach regarding the design of this facility. They did a good job," said Mr. Evgeny Kuivashev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region.

"I am glad that today we were able to meet for such an important and socially significant cause. Shirokaya Rechka and Academichesky microdistricts, where we are building the Meridian residential complex, are in serious need for kindergartens and schools. As a socially responsible company, we developed a project involving the construction of the new educational center at our own expense. We already have experience in designing and building such centers that we gained when we built one in the Michurinsky residential district. And this time we have added some improvements: the center will be bigger and will have a swimming pool. LSR Group hopes that such educational centers, as the one that we are starting to build, will be duplicated not only in Yekaterinburg, but also throughout the country," said Mr. Maxim Sokolov, CEO of LSR Group.

The educational centre project should be realized between 2019 and 2021. The region and the city will allocate 917 million rubles for the construction of this facility.

The center to be built will have an area of 25,000 m2. It will house a kindergarten for 200 and a school for 825 children, as well as a swimming pool, which will be connected to the main building by a covered passage. The entire complex will include a 3-storey building for the kindergarten of 8 student groups and a 4-storey building for the primary and secondary school of 33 student groups combined, a catering unit with a dining room (430 seats), sports facilities (a large and a small gym, a room for therapeutic exercises, a large swimming pool and a smaller swimming pool where the students would be able to learn how to swim), as well as a school hall with 340 seats.

The center will have medical facilities, including a doctor's office that will offer hearing and vision tests, a dental practice, as well as facilities for other medical procedures and vaccinations. Furthermore, there will be a psychologist who will work with children in need of psychological and pedagogical assistance. The Educational Centre will be properly equipped for students with disabilities.

The project is recognized by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation as cost-effective and replicable.

We would also like to highlight that the first educational center in Russia with both, a kindergarten and a school under one roof, was built by the LSR Group in the Michurinsky district. The Centre has been operating successfully since 1 September 2017.
