New urban planning regulations to be introduced on the basis of ZILART project

A big conference “Comfortable city. Success stories of large-scale urban projects” organized by the Moscow Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning. ZILART residential complex, Zaryadye park, Skolkovo innovation centre, Luzhniki sport complex were presented at interactive business platform. Local authorities, developers, architects and business advisors presented large-scale redevelopment and reconstruction projects to the professional community and explained how these projects are implemented and influence urban environment.

Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow, opened the session related to global reorganization of the territory of AMO ZiL by delivering a speech. He pointed out that redevelopment of former industrial estate is one of the key city projects and this projects serves as the basis to develop new urban palling regulations.

Ivan Romanov, Managing Director of LSR Group in Moscow, presented a large-scale project of ZILART residential complex. In his speech Mr. Romanov described organization of comfortable environment and the “city inside the city” concept and pointed out that implementation of such big and unique project shall influence development of the area and help to form a brand new approach to architecture of residential projects and complex territory development.

Ivan Romanov explained, ”“By 2022 one million square meters of living space shall be built within the framework of unified design code as well as a unique education center that has no analogues within the territory of Russia and cultural sites, including a drama theater, a concert hall and Hermitage Moscow museum of modern art. More than 30 leading foreign and Russian architects are involved in the project. In 2017 northern part of ZILART park shall be opened and subsequently become a new center of attraction in Moscow.”

Yuri Grigoryan, Head of Project Meganom architectural bureau, explained peculiarities of ZiL territory architecture. As he also mentioned, it is important that new buildings shall comply with historical buildings located in the area and specific principles of territory development are applied. According to the developed concept, facades of several buildings shall not be changed in commemoration of constructionism era and more than 4 thousand plants shalll be bed out along ZiL streets.

Denis Kolokolnikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors (RRG Group), closed the session and explained the strategy of implementing commercial estate projects in ZILART residential complex as well as prospects for development of shopping spaces within the framework of complex territory development.

Professional discussions related to ZILART project shall continue quite soon in the beginning of December at V Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum where a new Hermitage Moscow museum of modern art shall be presented.
