OJSC Granit-Kuznechnoye to Provide St. Petersburg’s Southern Districts with Crushed Stone

08 July 2008

OJSC Granit-Kuznechnoye (a company of LSR Group) is starting to ship its products from a new warehouse in the estate of Gorelovo. The new facility will provide for the transhipment of up to 30,000 cub.m of crushed stone per month.

The site is located in the south-west of St. Petersburg, and this part of the city was chosen on purpose. It is into the south-west that St. Petersburg has been expanding most rapidly. Major construction projects are underway in the area such as the Ring Highway, the Western High-Speed Diameter and the Baltic Pearl residential and office complex. In addition, two major projects with a total area of approx. 700,000 sq.m are being implemented in the south-west by OOO City House Building Company (a company of LSR Group). And it is also in the same area that OJSC Obyedinenie 45 (another company of LSR Group) has one of its concrete and mortar making plants.

Currently the strategic reserves of crushed granite of the most popular grades are almost formed at the Gorelovo facility, in the meantime the sales are starting.

Crushed granite from the facility can be delivered to construction sites both by customer’s vehicles and using the centralized delivery system of OJSC Granit-Kuznechnoye. An identical system is implemented at the other facilities of the company.

– We believe this practice to be quite promising, at the moment housing and road construction are in full swing here, said the company’s Commercial Director Sergey Nerodny. – The new facility will provide for the transhipment of up to 30,000 cub.m of crushed stone per month. It means that we’ll be able to supply the necessary quantity of quality crushed stone to our customers from the southern districts of the city.

The location of the new warehouse is strategically beneficial for the whole logistics system of OJSC Granit-Kuznechnoye. Now the St. Petersburg network of Granit-Kuznechnoye’s specialized facilities located in Oktyabrskaya Nabereznaya, Sofiyskaya Street and Parnas has been supplemented with a new one in Gorelovo. In addition, the company’s products are supplied from its production warehouses in the estates of Kuznechnoye and Gavrilovo.

According to the estimates by the specialists of OJSC Granit-Kuznechnoye, there are several scores of transhipment facilities in St. Petersburg, the largest ones owned by Granit-Kuznechnoye . The Rechport facility is capable of transhipping over 100,000 cub.m and the Parnas and Sofiyskaya facilities can handle up to 40,000 cub.m of crushed stone each.

A mention should be also made of the facilities owned by Glavresurs in Obukhovo (approx. 40,000 cub.m of crushed stone), Transstroymaterialy in Mebelnaya street (approx. 12,000 cub.m) and the recently opened SZNK-Parnas facility (up to 10,000 cub.m of crushed stone).
