DSK Blok Signs ?1.3 Million Contract for Equipment Supply

House Building Company Blok (a company of LSR Group) is to invest EUR1.3 million in a moulding plant for constructing prefabricated reinforced concrete houses.

The equipment supply contract signed with Eaglefinn OY, a European moulding equipment manufacturer, provides for the supply of a line for vertical moulding of volume components.

Eaglefinn OY owns an exclusive technology for manufacturing reinforced concrete parts of volume elevator shafts. The special feature of the technology is the absence of an access slope for volume moulding of reinforced concrete products.

The technology previously never used by Russian manufacturers will provide for a new approach to the manufacture of volume components and help to achieve certain unification of the products and increase their output while reducing labour costs and improving product quality.

The manufacturing process will be largely automated and based on the conveyor line principle with a high-tech control system.

An important element of the contract preparation phase was the testing and expert examination of the materials used by DSK Blok for commercial production as well as their possible use when applying the new technology.

Volume components such as elevator shafts are subject to increased requirements in terms of their safety and reliability. The unification of production will give rise to a product that can be used for different design options of house sections. The new moulding equipment will turn out elevator shafts of two basic sizes that can be used under relevant GOSTs (Russian State Standards). 

The first shipment of equipment is scheduled for late July. The equipment will be installed by DSK Blok’s own employees under the guidance of manufacturer’s specialists. In accordance with the contract Finnish specialists will also train Blok’s personnel.

DSK Block is planning to commission the new equipment before the end of 2008.
