ZAO VERTICAL TO SUPPLY WINDOWS FOR THE SMOLNY ENSEMBLE.

01 June 2007

According to Vertical’s lead specialist Mikhail Stolyarov, only the first batch of the windows is being currently manufactured for the front faзade of Smolny’s main building as the schedule approved by the customer provides for time-phased implementation of glazing work. At Phase 1 over 40 square meters are to be glazed.
As early as at the beginning of April, RemStroiFasad, the general contractor of the project, launched a tender for window units manufacturers, and Vertical’ bid was found to be the best.
The windows were designed by the company engineers based on 19th century sketches and taking into account all of the historical features – the frame cross sections and decorative pattern, and the opening system of the windows. The window units will be made of pinewood painted white and decorated with glazing moldings in true conformity to the design developed by Giacomo Quarenghi in 1806-1808. The unique feature of the window systems is their size, gigantic by window standards. The window units being manufactured at the factory have an area of more than 5 square meters.
The first batch of historical windows is scheduled to be installed on Smolny’s front facade by Vertical-Servis installation service already by June 30. The specialists of window system factory Vertical have already dealt with similarly challenging glazing projects. In particular, the factory produced window units for the Sleighing Hill Palace in Oranienbaum, Glinka Philharmonic Chamber Hall and many other architectural monuments of St. Petersburg.
For reference: Window system factory Vertical is one of the leading companies in Northwest Russia specialized in the manufacture of window and door systems made of natural wood and VEKA PVC profile. The company has a set of the best European equipment providing for a complete process cycle of manufacturing high quality products for any type of modern construction project.
