Dmitri Goncharov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC LSR Group:
“The principles of sustainable development are core to our business strategy, culture and activities and we see it as a means of securing the long-term development of LSR Group. At the heart of our approach is to provide high levels of transparency, to ensure that the interests of all stakeholders are considered during our course of business.”
LSR Group’s management devotes special attention to the introduction of sustainable development principles into LSR Group’s strategy, culture and activities. We are committed to building high-quality and comfortable housing which contributes to both improving people’s quality of life and creating a safe and pleasant social and cultural environment.
Social and environmental responsibility is an important element of our approach to conducting business. We are guided by principles of openness and transparency, while considering the interests of all of our stakeholders and continuously improving our corporate governance methods. Investing in human capital, ensuring appropriate and safe working conditions, improving the social environment and quality of life in key regions where LSR Group operates, and minimising our negative impact on the environment are just as important to us as achieving operational and financial success.
This is the philosophy which guides our activities: businesses should develop not only to make a profit, but also for the common good of society.
LSR Group’s sustainable development activities are focused on four key areas:
LSR Group supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to the nature of LSR Group's business, six priority SDGs have been identified, to which we are making the most significant contribution. These priority SDGs are linked to our key areas of sustainable development and are considered while developing relevant objectives, plans and activities.
LSR Group’s Board of Directors and Board committees together with the Executive Committee and the Chief Executive Officer determine Group’s priorities with respect to sustainable development. Setting and implementation of specific sustainable development objectives and initiatives is the responsibility of the Group’s structural subdivisions and enterprises.
The Company has a separate subdivision responsible for sustainable development. This includes coordinating and monitoring sustainable development activities, preparing relevant internal documents, as well as collaborating with stakeholders and other relevant structural subdivisions.
LSR Group’s priority is to strike a balance between the interests of our different stakeholder groups, and to respond rapidly to their expectations, needs, and concerns.
LSR Group employs a multi-level risk management and internal control system, which contributes to LSR Group’s sustainability profile. In corporate risk management, particular emphasis is placed on risks and challenges associated with LSR Group’s sustainable development activities. Such risks include risks in the following areas:
The fundamental principles governing the activities of LSR Group include respect for human rights, which is enshrined at national and international level.
LSR Group is conscious of the importance of respecting and observing human rights, both in its relationships with its employees and with respect to external stakeholders who are affected by LSR Group’s activities or products: its partners, its suppliers and subcontractors, its customers, and people in the regions where LSR Group operates.
The principles of respect for human rights are reflected in LSR Group’s fundamental internal documents concerning relations with employees and subcontractors and the regulation of social and other issues.
