The marketing department of the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga (St. Petersburg Renaissance) assessed the results of its PR-Programme for supporting city events in the field of the arts and culture in 2005.
In the course of the year, the Corporation took part in nine large-scale events, which were not only interesting happenings, but serious cultural and social occasions in the life of St. Petersburg.
“We are certain,” said Ivan Romanov, General Director of the Building Corporation Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga, “of the need and the importance for a revival of the beauty and the magnificence of our favourite city. This is the reason why we have supported the significant cultural events in the Northern Capital, which include music festivals, fashion shows, and glittering society occasions.
Short digest of events for 2005
December 7 2005 saw a unique fashion show entitled Elite Collections on Palace Square. The Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation acted as the official partner of the event. More than 600 guests attended the event at which the finest brands of luxury goods were presented in a ceremonial atmosphere. These brands included: The Parade Housing Quarter — the first elite housing quarter in St. Petersburg offered by our Corporation; a new automobile series by Porsche — the Cayenne; and a fashion show from Versia boutiques. Apart from the rare opportunity of being able to see a number of deluxe brands at the same time, this is the first time that the public at large has had a chance of going into the Courtyard of the Chief of Staff. It was there that a festive pavilion had been put up and decorated in the colours of the red range of the Parade Quarter, where the main programme of the evening began.
On October 16, the Cameron Gallery of the Catherine Palace hosted a fashion show of the new prкt-a-porter (ready-to-wear) deluxe collection by Tanya Kotyegova entitled “Autumn-Winter 2005/2006. The Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation acted as the official partner of the event. Unquestionably this event, which was attended by more than 500 people, was a highly significant occurrence in the cultural life of St. Petersburg. Within the framework of Tanya Kotyegova’s fashion show, the Parade Housing Quarter was presented by the Corporation.
From September 28 to October 8, the 8th International EARLY MUSIC Festival was held in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. For a period of several years the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation acted as the official partner of the festival in the Northern Capital. EARLY MUSIC is one of the most stylish and important annual events in the cultural life of Russia. The festival opened a new direction in Russian culture — early music, which is to say the heritage of old European music as it was authentically (historically) performed.
In the last weekend of July and the last three weekends of August with the support of the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation, a club sport festival was held once again. The festival unites clubs which represent similar types of active leisure from the point of view of their centuries old history and their aristocratic roots. These include such games as golf, yachting, fencing and horse-riding. This year the festival programme included an air show and provided for a society programme which included: cigar evenings, a fashion show and receptions given by the member clubs.
On July 10, SUPPER WITH A STAR (a series of GRAND COLLECTION salon evenings) was held in St. Petersburg at the Ball Hall Krysha in the Europa Grand Hotel. The supper was given “in honour of his fiftieth birthday” to Vladimir Kuzmin, and the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation acted as the general partner of the organizers. GRAND COLLECTION — was a GRAND supper, GRAND music and GRAND service.
On June 27 with the aid of the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation, a festival of vintage motor cars, entitled the Alexandrian Column, was held in our city for the first time. The festival delighted spectators with a motor rally entitled Constantine Palace — Palace Square, culminating in an exhibition of automobiles on the city`s main square and a Vintage Car Show outside the Constantine Palace. The luxury automobiles, which included rare Mercedes-Benz and MGA models, produced an unforgettable impression on spectators.
From June 14 to 16 (for the first time during the period of the White Nights), British Fashion Week was held in St. Petersburg. This glittering event in the Northern Capital was presented by the British Council and Elle Magazine with the aid of the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation. The show featuring the leading British designers was held in the very heart of St. Petersburg, at the Peter and Paul Fortress — and at the glittering Astoria Hotel. Famous couturiers at the show included the actress, Sadie Frost and the designer, Jemima French, who have created their own designer duet — FrostFrench. Another star of London Fashion Week was Matthew Williamson who year in year out remains the favourite of such famous clients as Sara Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna.
From June 7 to July 9, St. Petersburg with the support of the LSR Group and one of the Group’s companies, the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation, hosted the 13th International Music Festival, entitled The Palaces of St. Petersburg. The Palaces of St. Petersburg festival was begun in 1993 by the leader and chief conductor of the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia, Konstantin Orbelyan.
This year the awards went to the famous opera singer, Dmitri Khorostovsky, the international Italian star and saxophonist, Frederico Modelci, the Estonian conductor, violinist and leading ensemble musician, Andres Mustonen, and to Vladimir Yakunin, President of OAO Rossiskiye zhelezniye dorogi (Russian Railways).
The Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation acted as the chief sponsor of the presentation of the new prкt-a-porter (ready-to-wear) deluxe collection by Tanya Kotyegova entitled Spring-Summer 2005, which took place on April 8 this year in the Manezh of the 1st Military School at Universityetskaya Embankment, 13.
The main idea behind the Tanya Kotyegova fashion collection presentation was close to the concept behind the Dom u Morya project, so before it was shown to the public, a video film was presented to acquaint those attending with the residential complex project at the Dom u Morya (Martynova Embankment, 74), which is being built by the Vozrozhdeniye Sankt-Peterburga Construction Corporation.
