Combine-45, which is part of the LSR Group, will in the course of two years build a chain of factories in Moscow similar to that in St. Petersburg. The project will require 30 million euros.
The company plans provide for five factories to be built in the capital which will work under the Petersburg system of centralized management over production and logistics. The next towns which the enterprise plans moving into are Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kiev and Sochi. “We were the first on the Russian building market,” said Andrei Bibikov, General Director of OAO Combine-45, “to introduce a system of enterprise management, which in real time and from a central point coordinated the production work of factories located in different parts of the city together with all the transport involved in this. Now we are transferring this system to our Moscow representation and later to representations in the regions.”
The company now possesses two sites in the capital: one in the South East District on Novokhokhlovskaya Street; and the other in the north beyond the Moscow Outer Ring Road in the town of Dolgoprudny, where equipment is currently being modernized. These two factories with a capacity of 120 cubic metres per hour and 100 cubic metres per hour respectively, will be fitted out with equipment manufactured by the German company, Liebherr. This year the enterprise will open another factory, the Vetomat-3 Liebherr, which has a capacity of 180-200 cubic metres per hour, and there will be another two next year. The aim the company is setting itself is to produce one million cubic metres of saleable concrete and mortar per year, which will account for 10% of the capital’s market. The repayment date for the Moscow project is estimated at 5 years.
This year the combine intends to spend in the region of 10 million euros on opening new factories and expanding the transport fleet. The company will open two new factories at the old Krasnenkoye site (on Prospekt Marshala Kazakova) and on Sofiiskaya Street. The Liebherr Factory, which was previously located on the old Krasnenkoye site and which had a production capacity of 60 cubic metres an hour, requires modernization and, after its equipment has been replaced, will be used as a mobile centre for individual projects in the city and the region. The new Vetomat-3 Liebherr factories, which have a capacity of 180-200 cubic metres per hour will be opened in July and in November. Apart from that, the company has acquired a mobile factory with a low productivity of 30 cubic metres per hour for special projects, which can be set up in a week. It will be first set up at the building site for the Mayr-Melnhof Holz Gmb sawmill at the Yefimovsky Settlement in the Leningrad Region. Thus, if we include the mobile factories, the Combine-45 Petersburg chain will have a total of nine plants.
On the results of 2005, the company estimates its share of the 2.5 million cubic metre concrete and mortar mixes market at 35%. In comparison with 2004, the company’s production volume has increased 25% and exceeded 800,000 cubic metres. During 2006, they intend to produce for and supply sites in the city with a total of one million cubic metres of product.
“A comparison of the Moscow and St. Petersburg markets,” said Andrei Bibikov, “shows that we’ve got something to learn from Moscow. In the capital, high-rise building is well developed, and this is reflected in the demand for quality concrete mixes. But in St. Petersburg, we only produce high-class concretes like V60 and V90 to special order, whereas in Moscow these are used widely.” According to company assessments, the costs of producing for the two markets are approximately equal.
